As part of Frogs planners Amsterdam museum tour, we started the week with NEMO (science museum) and FOAM (photography museum). Searching for inspiration and fresh perspective, I must say that these two museums are in complete opposite spectrum.

NEMO was filled to the brim with children & their minders. All so eager to play and experiment with the available attractions (how can I blame them when I was also having lots of fun). If only I went there when I was a young kid, I might become a scientist instead of a planner! It is a good reminder that no matter how dull or difficult, if a topic is presented in a good interactive way then it can be engaging :-D

FOAM was so much more sedate and somber. Housed in a white sophisticated minimalist building, FOAM makes you want to furrow your brows (not in a bad way) and reflect. ‘W. Eugene Smith - More Real Than Reality’ exhibition took me to the land of story-telling. One of the first photo-essayist, I am still amazed how Eugene Smith can communicate so much through his pictures. One of his most celebrated method was constant shadowing of the protagonist so he can capture his/her life better. I can definitely see that as a similar tool of trade for planner in the quest of learning about their target audience.

Good bye for now and more update tomorrow!
